Young Professionals Board off to a running start!

Many thanks to Meals On Wheels Atlanta’s Young Professionals Board (YPB) who got in the holiday spirit by providing Home Repair Services for one of our senior home owners in November.  It was a great day of team building and giving back to the community for the YPB.

 Special, GIANT, Furry Visitor

Meals On Wheels Atlanta had a very special, 7 foot tall visitor last week. The Coca-Cola Polar Bear stopped by to visit with our Adult Day Health Seniors and MOWA staff. Our Adult Day Health center provides daily care and support to seniors with Alzheimer’s and dementia. The seniors loved meeting the Coca-Cola Polar Bear and having their photos taken with him. The Coca-Cola Polar Bear also brought with him several friends from The Coca-Cola Foundation who gave a $10,000 grant to Meals On Wheels Atlanta! Thank you Coca-Cola for your generous support of Meals On Wheels Atlanta!

 Santa for Seniors

Our Santa for Seniors luncheon was recently held & what a success! Through your generosity we have collected enough presents to give all of our seniors a wrapped Christmas gift on Christmas Eve.  Thanks to the chairs of the luncheon, Jill Berry, Dottie Smith, Jade Sykes Slover and everyone who donated gifts for this event.

Volunteer Spotlight - TEAM COX

Thanks so much Team Cox for coming and assisting MOWA!  We truly enjoyed hosting you and your support is greatly needed!  While packing boxes and bagging bread may seem like minuscule tasks, your extra hands saved us labor hours and allows us to give more to our seniors.  Thanks a million for your service and dedication in helping us to fulfill our mission!

If you or your organization is interested in volunteering with MOWA - please contact Jason Tucker

ADH makes Christmas wreaths

On December 9th Hydrangea Garden Club brought lunch and crafts to the Adult Day Health seniors.  After a delicious brunch the garden club helped the seniors make wreaths…Christmas candy wreaths!!  Can you imagine the seniors delight?  The seniors had a great time, made a beautiful holiday wreaths and went home with a few pieces of candy stuffed in their pockets.
