Thank you to chairs Jill Berry, Dottie Smith and Jade Sykes Slover for hosting our annual Santa for Seniors holiday luncheon on December 8 at Cherokee Town and Country Club. The generosity of the attendees allowed Meals On Wheels Atlanta to collect gifts for our seniors that will be delivered with their meals on Christmas Eve. This is a wonderful tradition that brings joy to our seniors and our volunteers delivering!
Meals On Wheels Atlanta would like to give a huge shout out to the 265 volunteers who helped deliver 1,500 meals to 250 seniors across Atlanta on Thanksgiving Day! Volunteers from all across the Atlanta area came together to help deliver nutritious meals to our senior clients and give them company on Thanksgiving day, which can be lonely for home bound people. We are truly grateful for all the amazing volunteers who gave their time that day.
Card from Client
Our staff are not the only ones who are grateful for the remarkable volunteer effort on Thanksgiving Day! A few days later we received this sweet thank you from two of our clients on the MLK Route, mother and son pair Mary Johnigan (85) and John Wright (67). These messages serve as wonderful reminders of how important fulfilling our mission is, and we couldn't do it without the support of our volunteers and donors!
